Since the defeat of Lord Shen the Soothsayer has been living peacefully at the abandoned Panda Village not far from the city of Gongmen. Her memory is clear, and remembers seeing the prince's boat slowly sink into the abyss from a distance, as she and the once loyal wolf stood by each other near the unpopulated area of the harbor to watch Shen's reign end from that very moment.
Devastating as Shen's death was, everyone moved on. The Soothsayer quietly settled in the village of the pandas, not bothered by the fact that many of the giant animals died there, and the Wolf despite taking it hard to see his peacock friend slip away from the world also moved on and found a place near the mountains within the old Chorh-Gom Prison for him, and the rest of his soldiers to settle in. They didn't think that going back to Gongmen City would do them any good anyway, and with Storming Ox and Croc as guardians of the town? The wolves knew that going back would only raise some sort of problem they didn't want to be involved in.
Gongmen City has been making progress in getting the town organized again and cleaning up after the battle between their deceased prince and the Dragon Warrior. Gongmen Jail has been divided to serve as a refuge to those animals who lost their houses during the destruction of the harbor crossing, and the other half of the building serves as a school as the prison slowly transitions back into an academy having been once head by Thundering Rhino, and his students Croc and Storming. The Tower of Sacred Flame (or what's left of it) has been turned into a temple where citizens come and give their prayers in hopes of guiding their prince to the gods and heavens. They might not have liked the welcome wagon from Shen, but he was still their heir who had been misguided, and Gongmen's citizens were easy to hide their true emotions and pay their respects in hopes of a better future. After all the past is the past.
Even with things going well for Gongmen City and it's people, there have been whispers and murmurs in the crowd that the monument they had adopted was haunted by their prince's ghost. Animals have said that they've seen the figure of the peacock prince lingering in what is left of the palace. His spirit trapped from the sins he had bestowed upon his people.
The Soothsayer knew of this as she would also get frequent visits from the prince. His spirit was fast, and she's been only be able to caught glimpses of him while taking her morning stroll around the abandoned village near her shack. She tried talking to Shen, but when she would look away for a moment he'd disappear. And when she tried summoning his spirit he didn't come. Surely there was something he needed from her if he often visited her.
It was when news came from the city that she come quickly to the old peacock palace is when she finally realized that Shen hadn't been stopping by her shack at all.
When the Soothsayer arrived to the scene shock struck her as if someone had thrown a hidden blade at her chest, and she stumbled forward losing clutch of her walking stick and falling to her knees. She heard voices that were faint to her ears, but the sight before her was clear like the dark clouds starting to hover over the city. Two dead bodies of soldiers littered the floor, but as she looked deeper into the open doors of the temple her mind was flooded with visions from the event that took place.
She saw Shen in her vision walking towards the temple in his dark armor, and upon entering the building he went in and came out with a scroll of some sort. The guards tried to stop him... the Soothsayer gasped as the vision ended. A boy helped her up, and she was guided to a bench nearby where she could rest. A few guards had walked in while she had been in her little flashback, but what she had seen... it was stronger, more clear than ever before. And Shen's face... her prince's face held no more innocence. She saw his right eye, glazed over and blind. Gods, what has she done to him? She could only blame herself because she had foretold his future.
And those visits from Shen? They were not visits. They were visions of the future, of what was to come if she didn't warn anyone. What could Shen be up to this time? What is the meaning of the well she saw in her mind before the vision ended? Something was moving in it, through the smoke, there were yellow eyes.
The Soothsayer only knew of one warrior that can defeat Shen. She must travel to the Valley of Peace.
